1. Scope and contact
This Policy explains how HK NORTHSTAR DIGITAL LIMITED (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Speaker Cleaner and this website. The App does not require an in-app account. Send privacy requests to support@northstarbyte.com.
2. Microphone, camera and photos
Sound-level measurement processes ambient microphone audio on your device to produce readings. An audio recording file is created only when you start recording. Sound-level snapshots use the camera; saving to your library requests photo-add permission. These recordings and images support the record, playback, save and export functions you choose and are not automatically uploaded by the App to our servers. Denying or revoking permissions limits the corresponding feature. Manage permissions in system settings.
3. Local records and preferences
Measurements, times, notes, recordings and related file information are stored in a local database or files. Preferences such as language, cleaning settings, reminders and Siri switches are also stored on your device. Photos, exports and system backups may exist outside the App depending on your actions and system settings. Using local sound tools alone does not give us a copy of these records.
4. Email support
If you email support@northstarbyte.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments or technical information you choose to provide, to reply, handle your support request and troubleshoot. Email providers process messages and ordinary transmission information under their own rules. The current version does not offer in-app feedback or rating entry points and does not automatically send device identifiers or device details or initiate public-IP lookups through that feedback flow. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information in email.
5. Reminders and Siri
Enabling cleaning reminders requests notification permission, saves a schedule on your device and asks the system to deliver local notifications, without submitting that schedule to our server. Disable reminders in the App or manage notifications in system settings. When you use Siri or Shortcuts, Apple handles voice and system interactions under its privacy rules. The App receives the corresponding action and executes operations such as open, clean, measure or stop on your device; it does not receive Siri’s raw voice recording. Manage these features through the App and system settings.
6. Sharing, payments and third parties
When you share, export or send email, your chosen apps, recipients and services receive the content you provide and handle it under their own policies. When you contact support by email, the App does not automatically attach your local recordings or photos. If App Store subscriptions are offered, Apple processes payments under its rules; we do not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account password. Purchase-data handling will be updated when those features are introduced. The current App and website do not provide third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking features.
7. Purposes, legal grounds and necessary disclosures
We process information to provide requested features, respond to support requests, troubleshoot and comply with legal obligations. Where applicable law requires a legal ground, this may include providing the service, your consent, legal obligations, or appropriately balanced legitimate interests in support and security; consent is obtained where required. We may respond to valid lawful requests from competent authorities or make necessary disclosures to protect lawful rights and safety. Any processing in a business reorganisation or transfer remains subject to applicable law and notice where required.
8. Retention, security and international processing
Local records generally remain until you delete them, clear data or the system removes them; system backups may retain information separately. Email support information is retained as needed to handle requests, resolve follow-up issues and meet legal obligations; this Policy does not promise a fixed period. Network processing locations depend on actual service arrangements and may be outside your location; applicable safeguards and notice requirements still apply. Security measures cannot eliminate every risk. Protect your device, choose sharing recipients carefully and do not send passwords or full payment details.
9. Your choices, deletion and rights
You can delete measurements and associated recordings from history, manage permissions, reminders and Siri in settings, and choose whether to contact support by email. Manage photos, exported or shared copies and backups separately; deleting an in-app record does not recall those copies. We cannot directly access or delete files held only on your device. Contact support to request access, correction or deletion of information we process. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to withdraw consent, restrict or object to processing, data portability and complaints. We may request necessary verification information and will handle requests as required by law; legally required records may not be immediately deletable. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
10. Website and browser storage
This website uses browser local storage to remember your language choice; clearing site data removes that preference. It adds no advertising, analytics or tracking scripts and uses no third-party font CDN. Hosting or network services may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and access logs to deliver pages and maintain security. Email and external links are governed by the relevant service’s policies.
11. Children and policy updates
The service is not specifically directed to children. Minors should use it with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information without legally required consent, contact support so we can act under applicable law. Updates will appear here with a revised date. Material changes receive appropriate notice and additional consent where legally required.
